Presentation Brothers College

President's Welcome Address

 Dear Fellow Past Pupils,

I am privileged and honoured to take up the role of President of the Presentation College Union for 2024/25. The recently appointed Executive Committee and I are looking forward with the mission of continuing to grow our Union for the coming year.

Thank you to all of my predecessors for their excellent stewardship of the Union since its incorporation in 1936 and especially our outgoing President, Joey Sheahan (Class of 1998) and long-standing outgoing Dinner Secretary, Dave Power (Class of 1980).

The Union offers past pupils a great way to stay connected after school. The importance of staying connected, helping each other and remembering shared experiences cannot be underestimated. I am encouraged by the growing number of Alumni who are willing to support the Union in different ways and firmly believe the Union will grow in strength in the coming years.

As we look to the year ahead the Union’s focus is to deliver great networking events and to foster a strong sense of community, engagement, and involvement among past pupils whilst driving Alumni participation in the activities of the Union.

Another of our key objectives for the year ahead is to increase the awareness of our Union amongst  the pupils within the school. We hope to achieve this through recognition of student achievement and increased our engagement with the school. These efforts will help to ensure that our Union will remain strong into the future.

I would encourage all past pupils to register/update your contact details through the Alumni website to keep informed of these events.

As the 150th anniversary of Pres approaches in 2028, the Union is delighted to support the College, Principal Mr. David Barry, Board of Management and Trustees with an exciting list of events and projects in the coming years.

Viriliter Age,

Neil O’Donovan,

President for 2024/2025 (Class of 1998)
